Healthy Brownies Recipe using Black Beans and Bananas
Brownies are a scrummy favourite treat but infamous for being unhealthy. However it doesn’t have to be that way, and with this inventive recipe you'll be able to enjoy guilt-free brownies that are both tasty and healthy too.
To make them you'll need the following ingredients:
- One 15 ounce (425 grams) can of black beans
- Two bananas
- 80 millilitres of agave syrup
- 60 grams of unsweetened cocoa
- A tablespoon of cinnamon
- A teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 50 grams of raw sugar
- 50 grams of instant oats
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 177 Celsius. Grease an 8 inch x 8 inch (20cm x20 cm) pan and place it to the side.
Next, blend all of your ingredients into a food processor or blender until everything is nice and smooth. Once blended, pour the mixture into your greased pan and place the pan in the oven for 30 minutes.
After the half-hour has passed, open your oven door and test to see if your mixture is done cooking by giving it a single stab with a clean knife or toothpick. If the mixture sticks to the knife the brownies aren't done yet and still need another couple of minutes to cook properly. If the knife comes out clean then the brownies are ready.
Protect your hands with an oven mitten and remove the pan from the oven, to be placed on a cooling rack. After cooling for about an hour, cut your brownies into your favourite shape and enjoy this delicious and healthy treat.
