Ingredients for Fried Bread and Onion Noodles:
- One Onion
- 2 slices of bread
- One bowl of egg noodles
- 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
- One knob of butter
- Salt
- Pepper
How to Make it:
Chop up your onion into large chunks. Tear up your bread into chunks of an inch or two in size.
Place your egg noodles in a pan of boiling water and cook in accordace with the packet's instructions.
Just before the egg noodles have cooked, pour 2 tablespoons of cooking oil into a frying pan and add a knob of butter. Let this heat up, the add your onions and stir for about a minute. Before the onions go brown, add the bread chunks and continue stirring, allowing the oil and butter to be absorbed into the bread. The onions and bread will turn brown very fast. You don't want to burn the mix, just to have a nice brown color to it. Once the bread and onions are nice and brown they're ready.
If you've timed everything right, your egg noodles should hopefully be done now. Drain the water from the noodles and place the noodles in a large bowl. On top of the noodles, empty out the fried bread and onions as well as any remaining oil from the frying pan. Mix this all together with the noodles.
Serve as a side dish, adding salt and pepper to taste.
